Flies More Comfortably With Oregon Aero
|
"Oregon
Aero designs seats that are a joy to sit in and that
are also energy-absorbing in the event of impact. The
(Polen Special) seat was so uncomfortable that after
hours of flying, I could not walk; both legs were
numb. Oregon Aero sat in the airplane, took measurements,
talked to me,
and then created a prototype. I was
ecstatic! The cushion was the most
comfortable seat of any kind I had ever sat in. The
people at Oregon
Aero are truly 'experts' in their field."

“I’ve
experienced landing gear failure twice. The first time,
in 2000, only one gear extended so I dropped about
three feet and landed on one wing. I’d been sitting
in a seat made of plywood and foam rubber. I was sore
for 10 days; my back was killing me.
In 2001, Oregon Aero custom-made a pilot seat for me.
When my landing gear failed again in the summer of
2005, I was forced to drop three feet to a landing
once
again – almost identical to the first accident. But this time, I had no
injuries at all; no soreness whatsoever. I’m astounded at the difference
your seat made between these two situations.”

Wagstaff Thanks Oregon Aero for a Quiet Cockpit
“WOW! I first used my helmet upgrade
while doing recurrency training in the Texan II, and it
was FANTASTIC! There was a huge difference in the reduction
of outside noise and on flights with the instructor in
the back. I could hear him breathing oxygen real loud.
That's ok, I turned down the intercom. I could hear the
radio much better. And, it was much more comfortable. I
love it. Thank you.“

" No Longer Distracted By Pain and Noise"
"The
demands of airshow flying exaggerate the issues of cockpit
comfort! Our airplanes are designed with performance as
the highest goal, and max performance often means sacrifices
for the guy who’s doing the driving. Before I discovered
Oregon Aero products, I dreaded each cross-country, and
I tried not to think about the bruises and ear damage I
endured with each performance. Now, with Custom Seat Cushions
and my headset conversion from Oregon Aero, I honestly
look forward to my cross-country flights! What’s
even better is that, during my performances, I’m
no longer distracted by the pain and noise that were once
part of my work. I can keep focused on the things that
are really important: being good and being safe!
"Rarely
do you find a resource that pulls out all the stops to get
you what you need. Hey, I had heard
about the great engineering and people at OA, and from the
moment I started whining about the hardships of being an airshow
pilot, I knew I had found an understanding ear and a powerful
ally. The assistance I received exceeded all my expectations,
and they addressed many of my needs that I hadn’t even
considered! Now I’m wearing OA shoe insoles while I’m
walking the ramp all day, and my parachute doesn’t hurt
my back anymore. I’ve still got some feeling in my bottom
when I land somewhere and I’m consulting with the geniusesin
R&D about my new "survival" helmet.
Thank you, Oregon Aero!"

“It’s
not very often that you find a company that is truly committed
to increasing safety and comfort
for General Aviation. But Oregon Aero has done just that.
I spend a lot of time inside of the cockpit of my Christen
Eagle II, and any way that I can improve comfort levels during
airshow performances is greatly appreciated. Not only can
you get seat cushions custom made to provide the exact fit
necessary for your individual needs, but the technology incorporated
into Oregon Aero’s seat cushions is unmatched by any
other company. Their wide range of products not only increase
safety and comfort, but truly enhance your flying experience.”

| “I travel about everywhere east of
the Rockies, bringing my popular aerobatic clinics to hundreds
of pilots and keep
a busy airshow schedule. I am sponsored by American Champion
Aircraft and I think the Super Decathlon is unmatched as
every pilots sport aerobatic airplane. But long hours of
cross-country flying have proven that I need seats made for
my big frame! I challenged Oregon Aero to design me seats
that have lots of technology instead of just a lot of foam.
The result is the best thing my back has ever felt! I have
more room in the cockpit and now I arrive fresh and ready
for work.”

Whether
its business or pleasure, Academy Award® Winning
actor Cliff Robertson uses Oregon Aero products in his
Baron to help him arrive safely and without pain.
"I am struck by the integrity
and quality of Oregon Aeros work and the dedication
of their people, whether its providing seat upgrades
for my Baron, an upgrade for my headset, or shoe inserts,"
says Robertson, who is a commercial and private pilot.
"Oregon Aero products provide incredible comfort
and improved safety, and for that Im extremely
grateful." |
|
“I wanted to take just a minute to tell you about our headsets that we
had modified last year at the EAA convention at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I operate
a North American B-25 Mitchell bomber from WWII.
This aircraft was built to carry 7 men and 3500 lbs of bombs to the target and
maybe come back home and that is it. In doing the job it was designed for, it
has not been modified for any "creature comforts" at all. It is hot,
fumey, rattlely and extremely noisy.
Last year, I took my David Clark headsets to your booth and asked if they could
help with the noise issue. Your staff took my DCs and did amazing things with
them. They added insulation and comfort mods that took good headsets and made
them the greatest ever. For the first time in an environment of noise levels
that would sterilize mice, we can actually hear ourselves think and hear each
other as well. Our comfort has been improved, our enjoyment of flying this machine
has been improved and mostly our safety and efficiency have been improved.
There are no words to express the difference you have made in our headsets and
I am truly in your debt for doing so. Keep up the good work and keep helping
us keep them flying.”
Sincerely,
James W. Terry
Maj. USAF Ret.

| "Ive
been using a...headset that I bought used in 1980. Over the
years I have upgraded it with a boom mic, gel filled ear seals
of several types and have enjoyed the service it has given
me. Lately, the noise levels have just been too high (I fly
a Twin Otter) and that top cushion just wasnt cutting
it anymore....I ordered your upgrade kit. Best headset decision
I ever made!!!! The SoftTop and the ear seals make a
world of difference!" B.B. |
| "I
recently sent in the left seat from my Cherokee Six to have
the seat foam (upgraded)... I installed the seat the day it
arrived and flew the plane for the first time that night.
The seat seemed very firm for the first few minutes, and then
I forgot about it. I flew 6.5 hours yesterday, from Lake Charles,
Louisiana to Columbus, GA to Wilminton, NC, and back to Louisburg
NC. I dodged thunderstorms, flew through turbulence and rain,
and never once felt the need to squirm around in the seat.
With the old seat I started to get uncomfortable after an
hour, with this seat I was comfortable after spending the
day in the plane." H.D. |
 “ I
finally took delivery of my aircraft this afternoon following
a paint job… I wanted to drop you a line
to tell you how impressed I am with the new seats from Oregon
Aero. WOW! It’s like flying in a fine recliner. NO
back pain, extraordinary workmanship, unbelievably comfortable.
Kudos to you and the Oregon Aero team!! I will be sending
the remaining four seats to be redone in the near future.
Again, my compliments!”

| "I
recently had a business trip to Natchez, MS, which is 552
miles from me. My wife could not go so I decided to take my
1940 J-3 Cub. I did not know if my 50-year-old body would
react the same as when I was 30 so I ordered one of your portable
cushions. Each way was 9 1/2 hours with five stops. I used
to say after a long trip I was sitting on a fence post after
two hours. This trip was great with little discomfort."
B.R. |
| "As a pilot with a bad back, I recently purchased your SoftSeat® portable
cushion with the lumbar support. However, before getting the opportunity to
test it in the plane, I set out on a 4,500 mile road trip to Alaska. This
was a trip I would never have considered, but as a former customer, I had
absolute faith in your company and its products. That faith proved to be
well founded. I made the entire trip without any back discomfort (including
using the cushion on a commercial flight home to Kansas City). As a bonus, I
did not have the normal discomfort of sitting, even on 24 hour days in the
car. I was able to go longer periods between "stretch" breaks without
discomfort. Thanks for another great product." M.W. |
| "These
seats are wonderful! Ive had an airline pilot, 6'6"
tall, fly my plane (a Maule MXT-7-180) and he commented on
how comfortable the seats are. The seats are great on long
flights." B.O. Jaffrey, NH |
| "I
received the 1" seat cushion
exactly one hour prior
to my departure. Thanks for the great service. I put 20-hours
on my C-150 flying from Ft. Lauderdale to the Nashville, TN
area. Did 6-hours in one day. Your seat is exactly as advertised."
K.S. |
"I use my
Edge 300L to instruct aerobatics. Sometimes I fly as many
as 12 flights a day, so you can see the importance
of a comfortable seat and headset. Oregon Aero products take
the pain out of a long day in the saddle."

Oregon Aero Upgrade |

PRODUCTPublishers of General Aviation News, the
Sclair family turned to Oregon Aero to provide a complete
interior upgrade when they owned their Cessna 205. The upgrade
featured leather seats (with Oregon Aero custom seat cushions)
and headrests for the front four places. The Sclairs had been
very happy with new seat cushion systems Oregon Aero made
for their Beech Baron, so they selected Oregon Aero for the
Cessnas entire interior upgrade. |
General
Aviation News publisher Ben Sclair and his family say top
quality detail work by Oregon Aero made a big difference in
the Cessna 205 they owned. Oregon Aero did an entire interior
upgrade on the plane featuring leather seats and headrests
and other amenities.
"It
has that new car smell," wrote Sclair in an issue of
the magazine which described the aircraft's Upgrade. "That's
not very common with general aviation aircraft. It put a smile
on my face every time I opened the door."
"Oregon Aero's attention to detail
was outstanding," he continued in the article. "Every
time I grabbed the interior door handle, I was reminded of
the little things they did. Nothing was overlooked."
The interior upgrade featured new flooring,
new sidewall and headliner material, a new overhead light,
new handles to aid ingress and egress, new chart and document
pockets, and new headrests for the front four seats. And of
course, the upgrade included Oregon Aero's painless, custom
designed and manufactured seat cushion systems. Before each
seat was covered in leather, the seat frames were powder-coated.
Chrome parts were sent out for polishing and chroming. (See
Aircraft Interiors for more information
about Oregon Aero aircraft interior upgrade services.) |

upgraded by Oregon Aero. |
Oregon
Aero was happy to receive a letter from Joe Kittinger,
Colonel USAF(Retired), who spends his days barnstorming
around the country in a biplane.
Says Joe: "...wanted to forward
the enclosed picture....notice the headset you modified
for me. This headset is the most comfortable headset
I have ever worn. While barnstorming I frequently wear
my headset for up to 11 hours at a time. At the end
of the day I have experienced no discomfort from wearing
this headset. What relief!! Of course, the noise canceling
part of this headset is quite remarkable and also contributes
to my comfort by eliminating unwanted noise...."
Thanks, Joe! (By the way, Joe's an
interesting guy. The "First Man In Space," he was launched
96,000 feet in June 1957. In August 1960 he executed
the "Highest Parachute Jump" of 102,800 feet and in
November 1983 achieved the World's Record Distance of
2,001 miles in a helium balloon. In 1984 he completed
the First Solo Trans-Atlantic Balloon Flight and a World's
